Designer / Art Director
Position Summary:
Responsible for the artistic development
(concept through production) of marketing,
advertising, and promotional materials.
Coordinate with account service to deliver on
strategy, on budget, and on schedule.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not
limited to:
• Working on assigned brands and retailer
teams as well as new business projects
• Developing creative concepts in
partnership with creative team and
copywriters
• Designing effective POS, print,
packaging, interactive and other non-
traditional elements by studying project
objectives
• Appling strong design principals from
conception to completion
• Following through with attention to
detail until job completion
• Updating job knowledge by tracking and
understanding emerging design practices
and standards; participating in education
opportunities; reading professional
publications, etc.
• Presenting creative to Senior Creative
and Account Management
• Sourcing all photography and
illustrations
• Assisting account team with project
estimation and timeline development
• Maintaining an organized file
management system and file server
• Maintaining a current portfolio of
completed projects
• Maintaining job notes on critical design
details for future reference
Knowledge/Experience:
• Experience with managing creative
projects from concept to production
• Experience with agency workflow,
processes, and structure
• Solid knowledge of four-color, spot, and
digital printing processes and prepress
requirements
• Experience with press checks and photo
shoots
• Knowledge of online stock
photography/illustration resources
Skills:
• Must have a keen design sense and the
ability to translate conceptual ideas to the
required medium.
• Communication, organizational,
personnel management, time management
and multi-tasking skills required.
• Proficient in graphics applications
including, but not limited to:
- QuarkXpress
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Acrobat
Qualifications:
• 4+ years design experience -
promotional marketing experience a plus
• Conceptual thinker with the ability to
concept and execute for multiple mediums
• Demonstration of integrated case
studies a plus
• Ability to multi-task on different brands
